Witnessing the New Era of AI: Learning and Teaching Expo 2026 Showcases Students Using Technology fo (Hong Kong, June 27, 2026) – The Learning and Teaching Expo 2026, Asia’s premier education event, was successfully held from June 25 to 27 at Hall 3B‑E, Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. As a committed
player in driving educational innovation, Education Ladder actively participated in the expo, joining educators and experts to explore a “human‑centred” direction for future education.
Under the theme “Reshaping Education: Human‑Centred Approaches for the Future,” this year’s expo featured over 600 booths and more than 300 seminars, making it a large‑scale event. It focused on digital education transformation, aligning with the SAR government’s recently released Digital Education Development Blueprint for Primary and Secondary Schools, which aims to help schools apply technology wisely and creatively. In his opening address, the Chief Secretary for Administration, Mr. Chan Kwok‑ki, stated that the government would build a talent pool and enhance Hong Kong’s innovation and technology
capabilities to drive competitiveness to new heights.
During the expo, representatives from Education Ladder paid particular attention to the applications of artificial intelligence (AI) in teaching assessment and personalised learning. Notably, in the Innovation and Technology zone, a student team from the ESF showcased an impressive end‑to‑end system solution called “Chill Pill.” The solution addresses the pain point that about one‑third of elderly people have difficulty adhering to medication due to memory decline or complex prescriptions, combining an AI app, Bluetooth connectivity, Google Sheets cloud monitoring, and a micro:bit‑driven 3D‑printed smart pill box.
At the booth, the ESF students acted as “Tech Mentors,” demonstrating the fully automated process from “uploading prescriptions” to “scheduled medication dispensing.” They not only explained how to use technology to simplify medication management but also emphasised the empathy behind the design — these young developers conducted in‑depth interviews with community elders, constantly adjusting the pill box’s indicator lights and sounds to ensure intuitive and easy operation. Education Ladder believes that such student‑led projects perfectly embody the deeper meaning of the expo’s theme “Reshaping Education”: technology is not merely a cold tool, but a bridge for the younger generation to connect with society and solve real‑world problems.
